Dear Birte’s family,
I first met Birte in London in 2004. She was a good friend of my lovely friend Céline Mendès. We immediately got along well. Communication was not always easy in English with my French accent and her German accent, she used to speak in English so fast an my English was so poor, but we shared very happy moments, lots of laughs, parties, beers, dancing, dinners at home, visits and also work ! She often told me about her rental misadventures in London, where English landlords do not mind to charge at heavy cost bedrooms in poor conditions. But we were young , so happy to live the London life, to meet so many new friends from all over the world, to improve our english and to find work !! We used to work together at Fieldwork, Birte, Céline and I. Really nice memories even if it was a boring job sometimes but so happy to work and such in a nice atmosphere there. I left London in 2006 but kept in touch 10 years with Birte. I used to travel a lot in Asia for work and she told me many times China was on her trip list ! she shared with me many times her trip experience she did with Nathalie Rossat and Céline. A good trio. Céline gave me the very sad news. We had lost with the distancy and the routine our frienshiph, works, children, children activities, family illness issues… time has been flying… I regret to say that I will not be able to come on Friday to say a final farewell to Birte. When we lived in London, mobile phones couldn’t take pictures, but surely I had some in an old pc or printed. I would be pleased to share them with you if you would like. I send you all my support on this so sad moment to her family and friends, thinking especially of her family, so young. I will remind always a dynamic woman, with lots of positive energy, brilliant, a really good woman, so nice with everyone, a big heart, she loved the life, was always smiling. I am very, very sad today, and thinking a lots to her family who must be destroyed. I am relieved to know she does not suffer anymore. My Spanish partner, Eduard, who knew also Birte in London, is joining me to send you all our support. He remembered Birte very well.
